When you think of Nashville, Tennessee the first thing that comes to mind is probably country music. While Nashville is considered the country music capital of the world, there’s so much more to it than just this single genre of music. It’s a growing city in the heart of the south that has something unique for everyone to enjoy — and music is just the beginning.

If you’re an avid concert-goer, you’re in the right city to see a great show in any music genre. From classic country to today’s pop to indie rock, there will always be some kind of music event going on around town. If you’re looking for something that won’t break the bank, check out some of the live music venues like The Listening Room, Tin Roof or The Bluebird Cafe, or if you’re lucky you can catch an outdoor music festival like Live On The Green.

For anyone that may find sports more entertaining than music, Nashville has you covered. Whether you want to watch hockey, baseball or football (even though it may not always be good football), you can catch it all in music city. And for anyone who prefers college sports over professional, you’re only a short drive away from Belmont, Lipscomb, Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt.

In a classic southern city like Nashville, you can’t forget about the food. Of course you’ll easily find barbecue and burger restaurants on nearly every corner, but the city is full of unique local places ranging from coffee shops to sushi bars, like Jeni’s Ice Cream, Frothy Monkey, Virago and San Antonio Taco Company. No matter what your meal of choice may be, one thing is for sure; you’ll never go hungry while in Nashville.

If you’re looking to kill some time during the day, there are always plenty of neat places to go shopping throughout the 615. Aside from the area malls like including Green Hills and Opry Mills, you can enjoy countless local and trendy shops in the heart of the city. Be sure to check out Two Old Hippies in The Gulch and Vinnie Louise Boutique on Porter Road. And of course, there are always plenty of shops to check out up and down Broadway.

No matter what may be bringing you to the fabulous Nashvegas, it’s always a happening place with something to do at just about any hour of the day. From the restaurants to the sports to the entertainment, this city will never disappoint.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
