Roy Disney once said,”It’s not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.” Having the most important things in your life come first increases personal happiness and joy. Although I have many values in my life, the three main things I cherish most are my religion, memories, and music.
Being a Christian, one of the main values in my life is religion. Having a relationship with God is something that I hold close to my heart. The youth group at my church feels like a family. Going to God and a church family in times of trouble and doubt gives me a sense of comfort. Our youth group goes on different trips year-round, and tons of great memories are always made.
Pictures, videos, and journal entries are all great ways to preserve memories. Even in the good or bad times, I value having moments to remember.Precious memories are a great value to me in life, for I depend on the many happy events that happen in my life to go through the tougher or sadder times of life. Every trip I go on I am always the “annoying one” taking too many pictures. Nothing gives me a greater joy than finding old pictures or notes and seeing how far I have come in life. There is only one life to live, why not cherish every single moment of it forever? The best thing is that no one can take away another’s memory and it stays within the person forever. At the end of every year I make a slideshow of pictures taken during those 365 days. Also, I set the pictures to music, which gives it a cheerful feel.
Music can mean different things to different people. For me, it allows an escape from the world. Music is also something I highly value in my life. Any time I am feeling low I put on my headphones. Concerts are a main part of my life. Every penny I find goes into my concert fund. Something about dancing and singing along to your favorite songs, with other people who share the same interest around you makes me happy. Without music there is no telling where I would be today.
Everyone values at least one thing in their life. My faith, memories, and music are the three main things that has made me who I am today. Religion is indeed the most important, it gives me structure and a foundation in my life. Memories are things that I would never trade for anything in my life. I will continue to share the memories with other people, while also establishing more new memories. Music is vital in my life because it gives me a sort of identity. No matter what kind of mood I am in, music is always there for me. Life would be very different if I had no values, and I’m pretty sure it goes for everyone as well.
