Thoughts I Have While My Nails Dry

Whoever thought painting your nails could also be a form of torture?

Thoughts I Have While My Nails Dry

As all girls know, about every other week its imperative to paint or repaint your nails. It seems like the hardest part of the process would be the actual painting, but this is far from true. I have enough trouble trying to pick out a color and usually just let other people tell me what color I should chose. Then the actual painting is a fiasco with nail polish all over my fingers and usually putting on too many coats and it turning out bumpy. OK, I admit, I'm pretty terrible about painting my nails, but by far the worst part of the whole ordeal is waiting for your nails to dry.

There are a lot of things that run through my mind when waiting for my nails to dry, and here are just 10 of them.

1. Wait I hate this color, maybe I should just start over.

2. I wonder what homework I should have been doing instead of painting my nails?

3. I wish my nails would dry faster! What is this torture?!

4. Man, when did opening doors become so hard?

5. Damn, I wish I had realized my nose itched before I painted my nails.

6. I never get texts, why are you texting me now?

7. How soon is too soon to start my top coat?

8. Wait, how did I get nail polish on my elbow?

9. I have never been so tired in my whole life why did I decide to paint my nails now?

and finally ...

10. I have to pee so dang bad!

Don't worry ladies, I have had all these thoughts and many more. But at least we get to have nails the color of mermaids and unicorns. Being a girl in these moments may suck, but at least we look fresh to death.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
