Congratulations! You made it through week one!
Regardless of your age, whether it's your first rodeo or your last, the first week of school is always a roller coaster that we can all relate to. It has its ups, its downs, and its "wait, did that really just happen?". It's like a week-long holiday dedicated to catching up with old friends, dressing to impress your peers, and reliving your freshman experience while trying to find your classes on day one.
Here's what your first week of school probably sounded like, narrated by the voice in your head.
Monday
"Yay school! So happy to be back on this beautiful campus. This is going to be my year, I'm going to be a superstar. I'm going to get A's in all my classes, join ALL the clubs, and probably even save the world. Maybe I'll get really ambitious and keep my room clean the whole year. You never know.
My roommates are perfect. We're going to decorate and make food and take crazy pictures and this is going to be like a huge slumber party all year.
Oooh new friends, new friends everywhere. Do I start the conversation or is that weird? Wait, I know that one. Hi!!
Dining hall food never tasted so good! Helllloooo unlimited pasta."
Tuesday
"Okay, so waking up was a little bit harder today, but that's alright, we're still going strong. Ooooh, new people in my classes, time to make friends.
Wait, what do you mean homework already?! Time to consult the planner.
$100 for a textbook? Who wants to be my buddy and share textbooks this semester?
Where is that building again? Please don't tell me I went to the wrong classroom."
Wednesday
"Is it too early to wear gym clothes to class?
Guys, we're halfway through the week! **Starts singing 'Livin' on a Prayer'**
Oh hey, extracurriculars, time for the first meeting! Flyers, events, and planning, oh my!"
Thursday
"We can do this, one day left. I need coffee.
Yikes, people are at the library like it's going out of style. Ain't nobody got time for this.
Time to be productive. I feel like a legendary studier. I should probably plan out my life while I'm at it.
WHY do you feel the need to stop in the middle of the hall in a massive herd. For the love of all things good, PLEASE keep moving.
Should have left earlier, it appears that the struggle bus is already full."
Friday
"This is going to be a great year."
