Thoughts From Busy College Students.

Crying on the inside like a winner.

Thoughts From Busy College Students.

This school year has been in session for two weeks and I am already so busy that I have to pencil appointments to meet with friends...lol at my life. However, I am still doing my best to go above and beyond at everything I am involved in. I spend 12 or more hours a day on campus and then go home and work some more. I also know for a fact that a lot of my friends who are as busy as me do the same thing. In fact, I am sure anyone who is actually busy works their asses off. You know what makes us busy people the most annoyed? People who aren't busy but act like they are. So from all of us busy college students, here's a list of excuses we are tired of hearing.

1. "I just like having time for me, so thank you but no thank you." HAHAHAHAHAHA TIME FOR MYSELF. HA. HA. HA. SAME. *angry emoji*

2. "I am already really busy"

.....Yeah Same...That's why I'm asking for help.

3. "I just don't know if I can fit that in because I have classes..."

Yeah well some of us have classes, jobs, other commitments, have 6,000 positions on campus and we still figure out how to make it work so stop. Thanks.

4. "I'm sure you're not that busy."

kk.

5. "Why don't you just not do so much?"

Well wouldn't that just be peachy.

6. "I don't think I can make that deadline because of other homework I have."

Please please say that to one of my friends who are taking 19-21 credits and turn everything in on time. I dare you.

7. "You should take a nap."

Wow that was good advice because I definitely hadn't thought of that...if I could pencil in a nap I would.

8."I would totally help you, but that is kind of a big commitment."

um...???? Literally I know...imagine doing it by yourself, which is what is going to happen because you won't.

9. "Yes I would love to do that!!" *2 days later* "You know what I just can't anymore."

um. kay. thanks. That was just great.

10. "Why do you do this to yourself?"

I literally have no response to this because when people say this to me I actually contemplate strangling them.

Those are really my top ten list of things that really irk me as a busy college student. Now, if you are actually a busy student, this doesn't apply to you and I am sure you actually understand how I am feeling. And if you are one of those students that pretends to be busy so that you don't have to do stuff...well I hope you find a bug in your next meal.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
