New year, new me right? I guarantee most females have said or thought this phrase during these beginning days of 2016. A lot of times, this includes getting a hairstyle change. Whether it includes going from waist-long hair to a pixie cut or changing that natural brown color to hot pink, getting your hair cut or styled is a major emotional commitment for us ladies. So here's the process of getting your hair cut presented in a series of gifs:
1. While scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest you come across a hairstyle or color you're sure you cannot live another day without having on your head.
2. You find every possible similar variation and practice styling it in the mirror.
3. You make that life changing call to your hairdresser scheduling the appointment.
4. On the day of the appointment you wake up like.
5. But then the reality of the situation sets in and the impending fits of indecision begin.
6. And after multiple texts to your best friend, you realize this may just turn out okay.
7. Finally arriving at the salon, you explain the 167 small changes to the original style you want to make and debate with your hairdresser what three inches of hair off actually looks like.
8. Then comes the highly anticipated yet dreaded first cut.
9. Followed by the immediate regret and the "WHY DID I EVER THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!?" mental scolding.
10. Next, deciding to have faith in your hairdresser and praying for a decent outcome.
11. Seeing the transformation in the mirror and realizing you don't look that bad, you look pretty damn good.
12. Leaving the salon relieved and realizing that wasn't so traumatic.
13. Roughly 2-3 hours later, those still looming doubts about your haircut resurface and try to convince you that you've made a horrible decision.
14. But then you realize you look fab and your hair looks awesome so you spend the rest of the day flaunting it around, channeling your inner Queen Bee.
Here's to a new year of haircuts, and going through the same emotional rollercoaster every time.
