25 Thoughts Every Girl Has Walking Into Sephora

Picture the gates of heaven - those shiny gates surrounded by clouds that open as you float through them. You feel happy and calm and serene. You see your childhood dog, Scrappy, and he runs to lick your face. You're happy. Okay, so this is what I imagine walking into heaven would be like since I'm not dead...yet. Now picture walking into the gates of hell. It's hot, so toasty, you're feeling like a rebel and a badass because you died and clearly you weren't a great person during your time on earth. But you walk in and you feel awesome, like HBIC. Now picture yourself walking into a store, so torn between feeling like an angel and a devil. This is exactly what walking into Sephora feels like. You feel like an angelic little angel baby because you're so excited to actually get new makeup and stop looking like the crack addict on the street from 2009 but you also feel like a little devil because you know your bank account won't forgive you in around about 20 minutes. So here are some thoughts that every girl has when they walk into the gates of heaven/fiery pits of hell, also known as Sephora.

1. Ok, I'm not going to spend more than $30 today. *walks into Sephora with angels singing in the background*

2. Oh wait, Naked came out with a new eyeshadow palette.

3. Crap, ok, well I won't spend over $200.

4. BUT I NEED EYELINER.

5. Let's not get crazy and get the Robins Egg blue, I'm more mature than that.

6. I totally need the white eyeliner, just to put over the black eyeliner, to make my eyes sparkle and pop.

7. Oh I need that liquid eyeliner. My wings need to be so far off my eyelid that they attack the eyes of my enemies.

8. Alright, I'll just get one liquid eyeliner and the regular sparkle black eyeliner.

9. *I just want to say, I feel like I'm floating on cloud 9*

10. GOOD LORD, MAC CAME OUT WITH NEW LIPSTICKS.

11. Ok, I need Boyfriend Stealer - it's like a metaphor for my life.

12. I also need Heavy Petting (if I'm not getting any, might as well pretend I do by putting it on my lips).

13. Alright so only two lipsticks...not bad.

14. I NEED CONCEALER. These bags under my eyes definitely aren't designer, they're knockoffs.

15. I'll get this cute little one, it's only $25 and it comes with a little spoon.

16. I totally need mascara now, too. My eyelashes should be blacker than my heart and longer than my last relationship.

17. BRONZER TIME. I want something that screams "I'm as tan as Snooki from Jersey Shore" but looks like "Snookie in 2016 with her life together."

18. I look like an Oompa Loompa, also known as one of those orange girls from Staten Island, ugh.

19. Finally found the right shade of "I'm a bronze goddess, worship me, peasants."

20. Hmm, I really don't need foundation but this one makes my skin so pearly and silky I'm sure my face will glisten in the sun.

21. Mom, no, I know I'm buying a lot of makeup. NO, I'm not buying this for a boy. I don't think they care if I'm wearing four shades of Slanted and High, ugh, the ignorance.

22. YAY, time to check out!

23. "Your total is..."

24. *Hands over credit card reluctantly*

25. I'm walking out of the store, also known as into the gates of broke and desolate hell.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
