Okay, let's all be honest for a minute and agree that packing for college is a seemingly impossible task. The endless possibilities of what you do and don't need to make it incredibly hard to narrow down what has to go with you and what is okay to leave behind. This is my third year at college, so I thought I would share some of the thoughts that ran through my mind as I packed up my life.
1. Do I really need five flannels?
2. Do I need a bathing suit?
3. How much underwear is too much?
4. I definitely need to bring all my jeans.
5. How many pairs of sandals is too much?
6. What if it gets cold before fall break?
7. What if some special occasion comes up and I need extra dresses?
8. Do I need 1 box of Pop-Tarts or 2?
9. "(Insert dog's name), I'm sorry I wish you could come too."
10. "Mom, do you think the RA would notice if (Insert dog's name) moved with me?"
11. 17 pillows are not enough.
12. What season of Friends is it when Ross draws on Rachel's face then they get super drunk in the hotel room?
13. "(Insert sister's name), do you have my white shirt with the lace?"
14. Ok, how often am I actually going to wear this?
15. Why do I have so many t-shirts...
16. Yes, Mom I do need all these blankets!
At the end of the day, there is (almost) nothing that you can't go buy at Walmart or have your parents send you, so it will all be okay! Move-in is seriously the most exhausting day, but it's also one of the best. So, make the most of it and enjoy that time with your family and your friends!
