It's August. Somehow the 104 days of summer vacation have narrowed down to less than twenty, and every college bound kid is realizing that there is little to no time to finish what the summer has started, with packing on top of it all. With that, here are 51 thoughts every college student has in August!

1. Oh my gosh, it's August already...

2. Wait... is it August?

3. What day is it??

4.These last couple weeks are going to be so productive.

5. I am going to start getting up earlier to prepare for class!

6. Oh... it's noon... I didn't wake up to my alarm

7. Oh well, might as well chill in bed for a couple more hours.

8. Maybe I will re-do my dorm this year....

9. To Pinterest!

10. I think I am going to go for a pastel/bohemian type of vibe this year....

11. How many throw pillows is too many?

12. I can have 7 throw pillows, right?

13. Why are pillows over $100

14. I will just make up for it by buying used text books!

15. Why are my used text books over $500??

16. Whatever, I don't need to buy school clothes.

17. Oh wait, those shoes are cute.

18. I guess they don't say "broke college student" for nothing.

19. I should probably get a job....

20. No way, I do not want to wash dishes!

21. Or clean dorm halls...

22. Could I work in town?

23. When am I going to have time for class?

24. Or homework?

25. Or more importantly, friends??

26. I could work at Walmart!

27. Wait... I would have to interact with people I know

28. I guess custodial wouldn't be that bad.

29. I am finally going to branch out and meet new people!

30. Maybe I will even meet the one!

31. College romances are better than high school, right?

32. Okay, what extracurriculars should I join?

33. Music, sports, or something else?

34. Why not try them all?

35. Sure, I could be on the planning committee for this!

36. I am going to schedule out my week.

37. I should not have agreed to four extracurriculars, two committees, a job, and 20 credits...

38. Who needs sleep anyway?

39. I should start packing...

40. Crap, I have three days

41. Should I get a fish?

42. Could I qualify for an emotional support dog?

43. I will just sneak in my dog.

44. When do my friends leave?

45. Wait, I only have two more days to see them!

46. I have 48 hours to hang out with 16 people, how many hours is that?

47. Okay, three hours a person, I can do that!

48. We have a couple days at school before class starts anyway!

49. Oh wait, I have to say goodbye to my family, too...

50. Okay, I can cut it to two and a half hours with each person and have eight hours to hang out with my family.

51. Crap! Packing!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
