"Breaking Bad" is quite possibly the most addicting show I've ever watched. I think one of the main reasons that this show is so captivating is because of the interesting mix of main characters that this series offers. Here's my take on the stars of this show.
Walter White: At first, I couldn't help but like Walt. Sure, making meth isn't really something to be praised, but he was the man for the job. He was trying to provide for his family (in a really messed up way) and he made a few mistakes here and there, but his smart, witty and tactful personality won me over. Then, I found myself beginning to see less charm and more selfishness. He turned his business into an empire not for his family, but for himself. The more he needed his scandals to feel alive, the more I found myself viewing him as a monster rather than a family man. I mean, he did watch a girl die and poison a kid. By the end, I just wanted Walt to pay the price for his actions and leave his family alone.
Jesse Pinkman: I knew Jesse would be a funny addition to the show just by seeing his debut. I was a little leery of him given what he had chosen to do with his life, but I also noticed that he was caring underneath his hardened act. Sure, he wasn't the brightest, but he was a good partner for Walt. As the show went on, Jesse was seen in a new light. He was smarter, more driven and just a good person. I began to like Jesse more than Walt. I was rooting for him and I hated seeing Walt drag him down. Jesse is by far my favorite character. How could he not be? He's caring, resourceful, inventive and sensitive.
Saul Goodman: Oh, Saul. Despite his sketchy reputation and non-existent ethics, I would definitely call Saul for my legal issues. He definitely knows how to take care of business and he cares about his clients more than he shows. The show wouldn't be half as funny without Saul.
Skyler White: Skyler really evolved throughout the show. At first, I felt bad for her for being lied to, but she still annoyed me. Then, I couldn't stand her for being so controlling. By the end, I respected her. She puts her family first and is nothing short of fierce when she needs to be.
Hank Schrader: I never really liked Hank. He seemed to think he was a little too tough and knew it all, and I still think that. However, I did think more highly of him by the end and was sad to see him die. He put his family before himself and that far outweighs his undesired personality. Plus, he was obviously pretty good at his job.
Walter White, Jr.: I think that Walt, Jr. really added something to the show. He overcame a lot of struggles without making erratic decisions, which is something a lot of the characters failed to ever do. I don't think that he was given enough credit. He picked up on a lot more than he let on and ultimately held his family together when no one else could.
Marie Schrader: I can't help but like Marie. Her personality added a little comic relief to the show as she was definitely a nervous person but yet still enjoyed a little shoplifting now and then. Despite her crazy antics, she turned out to be a great aunt, wife, and sister.
