As we toss up our graduation caps, we're also tossing ourselves into an exciting, new, and undiscovered future. After the flurry of applying to colleges, getting accepted, and choosing the right fit, we all take a step back to enjoy our last few days of senior year. But after a glorious last summer as high school students, almost all of us find ourselves surrounded by the same thoughts. Here are just a few:
1. How will I make friends?!
After nearly fourteen years of seeing the same crew every day, making new friends seems like the number one fear for everyone. Learning to make friends can seem horrifying, especially on the first day, but don't worry! Before you know it, you'll have new friends who were in the same state of mind as well!
2. Will I like my professors?!
Most of us are nervous to raise our hands at all on the first day of class. It’s amazing how quickly in a lecture hall of nearly two hundred students a pin drop can be heard. But there's no need to worry. The professor works just as hard as the students to make sure everyone is successful!
3. Will I find my way on time?!
We are all terrified of finding the right lecture hall in the right building on the right floor at the right time. From missing our alarm to not finding parking, trying to get to class, especially on the first day, can be nerve-wrecking. But with planning ahead, we can all definitely make it with time to spare!
4. Will I like with my roommate?!
While not everyone dorms in college, the majority of us who do choose to dorm are always secretly anxious before meeting our new roomie. No matter how sweet and kind we know they’ll be, we are definitely always worried about making friends, and all of us hope that our new roommate will be one of them.
5. Will I enjoy college?
No matter the college or university we may attend, we are all hoping we will enjoy the experience. Whether it be through clubs, classes, friends, or parties, we all hope that our college experience will be one to remember.
