Every out-of-state student feels the exact same at some point. You go into your freshman year and you know barely anyone and feel so left out of all the in-state jokes and all the lingo that you have no idea about. You quickly pick up on it and suddenly you go home for Thanksgiving and everyone thinks you are insane because you have an entirely new vocabulary. “Why is everyone so obsessed with Chacos?”

“Her accent is so thick that I can’t understand a word she is saying so I will just nod and smile.”

“Literally everyone is from Charlotte and Raleigh -- those cities must be giant.”

“Why would anyone not come here? You can go to the beach every single day!”
