I know. It hurts. I know your world seems like it's falling apart and I know they are the only thing that pops into your mind, but I am here to tell you time heals all wounds. It sounds stupid right now, I know but with time it will be true. You're in pain and you feel like nothing will make that go away, and while you are right, there are things to subdue the pain even by a little.

Go out with your friends, don't lock yourself at home because you will get worse. Read your favorite book, take your mind on an adventure even if you finish the book in three hours. Go out to a movie or take a walk around your favorite place, it will keep you busy and your mind will not go towards them.

See they aren't worth your tears and the pain. They aren't worth the sleepless nights or you singing "Bleeding Love" till your chest hurts. They aren't worth your love. See, my theory is why cry over someone who will not cry over you? Why shed a tear for someone who isn't worth it? That doesn't seem fair. You deserve better, and now that you are alone, better is what you will get.

Take this time as a reflection period. A period to realize your inner worth so no one and nothing can walk all over you again. Nothing will break you ever again because after you realize what you are truly worth, you will shine so bright no one will want to hurt you.

Also, do not grow a hate for the world. I say this because I know for a few days and sometimes still, I hate the universe for making me feel so empty and so alone, but slowly, I realize that everything happens for a reason. It may sound fake but it is true, if it is meant to be then it will be. You are meant to be with someone who will cherish and love you for the beautiful person you are. You are meant to be spoiled and shown off so the world can see what an amazing person you are. You are meant to be happy and the only time you will shed a tear is when they are tears of joy. Do not cry over a person that hurt you time and time again. Do not cry over a person that does not value your true worth and realize how important you are. Smile that the universe saved you from something that could have ruined you as a person.

Now worry about yourself. Start doing your favorite hobbies and take time to be with your family and friends and cherish each and every moment a little bit more. When the universe wants it, you will fall in love again. And maybe you will experience a heart break again, but you will pick up those broken pieces and start anew because that is what life is about. You will experience pain but you will also experience an abundance of love and joy that will make the pain seem like a simple prick on your index finger.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
