My dog, Sadie Cohen, is absolutely the most amazing little peanut to ever exist. Her little stubby tail and coat of fluff make my heart warm and cheery. She is just a pure delight. But there are some times that I wish she could help out around the house, or give me advice, or play with my hair when I've had a long day. I mean, I pet her all the time, it seems a little unfair if you ask me.
I have compiled a list of just a few things I wish my dog could do besides eat, poop, run and snuggle.
First off, wouldn't it be so amazing if my dog could answer me back?? I mean I pour my heart and soul out to her on numerous occasions and all I ever get in return is a head tilt or a huge lick on the face. Some wise advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
You know, sometimes after a long week, I just want to lay on the couch and recover. Wouldn't it be fabulous if Sadie could make me an omelet or heat up some pizza in the oven? If only dogs had thumbs..
In my opinion, grocery shopping is the worst. I loath having to push around a cumbersome cart covered in germs and sticky, mysterious goop. I would be so overjoyed if Sadie could do my weekly shopping for me! I am sure she would sniff out the tastiest treats.
My homework. I so wish that Sadie was intelligent enough to do my homework for me. I mean, she knows "sit", "down", and "where is dad?" (my father is her favorite in the family), I am sure it wouldn't take long for her to understand the Newtons Law of Gravity or how to take notes on the history of America.

I wish Sadie could drive. She would look so cute at the wheel with a pair of dice hanging around the front mirror and a hula girl on the dashboard. I can picture her with a pair of sunglasses and her dog friends in the passenger seats. Aww, she would just be so cute.
Finally, I wish Sadie could text me. Sometimes I have a really funny or embarrassing story to tell her about my day. Sometimes I just want to see how she is doing at home or check in to see if she needs anything. If she could text I would be able to find out!!
Dogs are truly a human's best friend. They give so much love and just want to be loved in return. They don't judge you, or criticize you, or make you feel inferior. They are just the most amazing little creatures. Even so, I still think it would be incredibly cool if they could cook, shop, drive, talk, and text.
I would like to dedicate this article to the late Bernard and Liberty Cohen who passed away this past August. They were my childhood dogs and while always stay in my memories and in my heart. I hope doggy heaven is beautiful and you have so much room to play and poop. Love always, your sister Jenny.
