In the blink of an eye, time flies. Just like that, a year has passed with you standing by my side. One year of laughs, cuddles, smiles, happiness, and love.

None of this would've been possible without writing...

It's crazy to think that writing brought you to me, but it did. Ironically, writing has always led me to important milestones in my life: my sorority, my degree, and you.

Odyssey has allowed me to express myself on just about any topic. With that freedom, I decided to take a chance and write a review piece on my experience with the dating app, Bumble. Never would I have thought I would instantly connect with you. Once "connecting" with you, our conversation flowed effortlessly and we immediately decided to meet up.

On our first date, I was a ball of nerves because of your cool demeanor. I was captivated by your presence and you could totally tell I was smitten with you. How do I know?

You had that swift smirk that made me melt like a fresh Krispy Kreme donut and you were totally eating it up.

Cheesy as it sounds, it all felt like it was meant to be. Our spark quickly created this aroma of comfort with one another, so much so that we decided to embark on an adventure together as a couple. Soon enough, we met each other's families and instantly bonded with them. I love spending time with you and your family. They are such a sweet bunch who are always down for a game night and laughs. I also love how much both of our families enjoy each other's company. What a great fit.

You are my balance in life.

You are my constant reminder to not take life too seriously. You're an absolute goofball who enjoys pushing my buttons and always being my biggest competitor in any game or sport. However, I did find your weak spot. I can demolish you in a game of bowling, and I am quite proud of it.

When you're not pushing my buttons or competing against me, you are my comfort blanket. Your voice and presence have such a reassuring effect on my life. Whenever I feel scared, upset, or even sad, you are the person I call to make it all better. You've seen me at my best and worst and still love me, despite my flaws. You've been there for my successes in life and personal growth. You've also been there with encouraging words and hugs to help me pick myself up when I fell apart.

By no means are we a perfect couple. We don't always see eye-to-eye, but we express our perspectives in ways that allow one another to be more open and understanding. That is, of course, after our hot heads cool down. Through it all, we know that communication is extremely important, but effort is key.

Voicing appreciation is always welcomed too.

Thank you for being a willing participant in my love for all things matching and pumpkin flavored. Yes, I hit the jackpot with you! Thank you for challenging me to be a healthier version of myself and encouraging me to achieve new goals. For that, my noodle arms can now do pull-ups and my back muscles are now making an appearance. Thank you for challenging me to be more open to perspectives and read some very helpful self-help books. Took me a while, but I'm working on it. Thank you for being my best friend. I know I can tell you anything and everything. No topic is too revealing or grotesque, and there is no such thing as awkward with us.

Thank you for loving me.

At the end of each and every day, you always tell me that just want to make me happy. Truth is, I'm happy each and every day because I have you in my life.

I love you bunches, babe.

Cheers to one year full of amazing memories with you and to making many more!

Love,

Your Fiery Redhead

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
