Made of sugar, spice and everything nice, but also a little fire and ice, this one is for my ladies. Women are the foundation of this society and they surely do not get enough credit. Now before you go and get upset, just know, this is not another article about feminism. I just have a few tips for my fellow ladies.
1. Be the boss
In whatever it is you want to do, be the boss and take control. Don't let society tell you that you can't do it because you are a woman. However, at the same time, don't let activists and feminists make you feel like you have to do something to prove yourself because you are a woman. Whether you want to be the perfect housewife or the CEO of a thriving company, do whatever your heart desires and be the best at it. You are fully capable of anything you put your mind to.
2.You are the prize.
When did the roles switch from men fawning over women, to women fawning over men? So it wasn't enough that society thinks of women poorly, but now women degrade themselves by making men think they are the prized possession. Wrong. Women, listen to me. You are a prize. You are a princess because your father is the King of Kings. You better not ever let any man allow you to think any less. If he can't treat you like the royalty you deserve, then he needs to get to steppin' right on out of your life because you are too good for that.
3. Stop the degradation
Ladies, we have got to stop degrading ourselves and each other. Stop looking in the mirror and hating what you are seeing. As a woman, you are a beautiful, graceful and classy creature, that this earth is blessed to have walking around. Being the only ones to be able to reproduce and carry a child within yourself for nine months. Being the only ones to break the tolerance pain scale for the average human male due to giving birth. So what if you put on a couple pounds? So what if your hair isn't as long as hers? So what if you've got wider hips than average. We are all different. Embrace your differences and use them to identify yourself as a unique individual because you are great and nobody else can be you better than you.
4. It's okay to say no
Some of us grew up with the belief that we had to do anything to get a husband, and once we did, we had to honor him and submit to him. Your husband/boyfriend/male friends are just as much of a human being as you are. They are fully capable of doing things for themselves. You don't have to do anything for them. It should be a willingness in everything you do. It is okay to say no to a man's request. You are not going to get struck down by lightning if you say no. To the wife being abused, you don't have to do his laundry, make his dinner or clean up after him. To the girl who can't get noticed in high school, you don't have to do your hair a certain way, wear make up, wear revealing clothes to get his attention—and if you do, then he isn't the guy you want to spend your life with anyway. To the super smart girl in class, you don't have to do his homework to get him to like you. To the girl who thinks she has nothing going for her, you don't have to have sex with him to try and make him love you, it won't work. If you don't want to do something, then don't do it.
We are big girls now, and it is about time we start to demand respect, but at the same time give it. Respect yourselves, respect each other, dare to be great.
