Hey, you -- the one binge-watching Netflix with Chinese takeout in hand. It looks like you've had a rough week. Midterms just fried your brain, you feel like you haven't slept in a week, and just as soon as one test is over, you feel like you're swamped studying for another. Even thinking about diving into your next chapter of reading makes you want to throw up.
Sure, juggling school, an internship, club memberships, officer positions and more might feel like it's starting to be too much, but don't get too overwhelmed as you head into this second half of the semester -- you got this.
The post-midterms period can be an ominous reality, signaling six weeks till the end of the semester, but this shouldn't psych you out. Real talk, that's a lot of time, and is often a period that can make or break a semester.
If you're struggling in a class, make the best of this remaining time. Go to those office hours you always forget, form study groups in your classes, and show your professor that you are making the effort to succeed. I guarantee you'll go from clueless to clued in in no time.
If your internship is completely throwing off your time management, work with your boss to schedule hours that better fit your workload. Sure, a four-hour block of coffee runs and mindless intern work seems like a waste of time with 40 pages of reading due for homework, but keep focused and dedicated to your work. Believe it or not, your involvement is important.
If you hate being involved with a club, quit. No use wasting your spare time doing something that sucks. Use that spare time wisely, and invest in a different extracurricular when you feel you can handle the commitment.
There's very little you can control when it feels like your schedule is booked solid seven days a week, but keep in check the important things. Eat healthy, hang out with your friends (group study sesh, anyone?), and call your mom when you're feeling anxious.
Always make time to clear your head by doing things you enjoy. This might feel impossible, but one episode of the "Office" is 20 minutes. You can spare 20 minutes. And if you can't, take 20 minutes to bring the textbook to the treadmill and run while you study. Your not-as-fried brain will thank you later.
College life can get a little hectic as you head into the final weeks of the semester, but again -- you got this! Do what needs to be done and march on through to finals.
