Throughout a good part of the 90's and the early 2000's, the hit show Friends was one of the most popular on TV. It showed the importance of true friendship through wacky escapades and some of the most hilarious moments ever caught on film. The show owes a lot of its success to the brilliant actors who were always "there for you" (nostalgic much?).
Of course, shortly after the show aired its last episode, the entire cast and crew was euthanized due to the strict moral obligations that had been outlined in the actors' contracts. Though we have all wondered what the cast of Friends would be doing if they had not met their untimely ends, wonder no more! Thanks to some amazing CGI artists, images have surfaced that claim to depict what the deceased actors would look like in 2016! Check it out!
Joey (Matt LeBlanc)
We've all been waiting years to see a grizzled Matt LeBlanc taking out the trash, and now our dream has finally been realized. This is what he would've looked like!
Monica (Courteney Cox)
Check out the details that went into recreating a 2016 version of Courteney Cox! Fiji Water probably wasn't around when we last saw this famous actress alive, and she might be holding a smartphone or two that definitely wouldn't have fit in on a show like Friends. What an amazing experience!
Chandler (Matthew Perry)
Oh dear. Maybe we're kind of glad that Matthew Perry didn't live this long. It appears that time would not have been very kind to him! It is Chandler, though. Nobody's surprised.
Rachel (Jennifer Aniston)
We have to apologize for this one. It appears that our animators didn't take into account any natural aging in this photo of Jennifer Aniston, who would surely not look this good if she were still alive today.
Ross (David Schwimmer)
Wow! Not only would David Schwimmer have eventually required glasses, but he also seems to have had a future in the courtroom! The CGI artists purposefully made this picture vague enough for us to wonder if Schwimmer would have become a successful lawyer or a convicted felon.
Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow)
Though Twitter was discovered ten years after the final episode, we have to assume that the members of Friends would have had accounts on the popular social media site, right? Wouldn't it have been so cool to have 90's celebrities on Twitter? Oh, the possibilities...
Replacing Matthew Perry
Though we can never be too certain, the trajectory of relationship levels amongst the iconic actors seemed to be pointing toward a fallout with Matthew Perry. Of course, he would have been replaced by James Michael Tyler, the actor who played Gunther. Though he was not a "main character" on Friends, Tyler was also euthanized at the conclusion of the series. Still, it's compelling to see what could have been.
Replacing James Michael Tyler
Based on some very accurate predictions, the Friends cast would have surely dumped James Michael Tyler just after he replaced Matthew Perry. The void would clearly be filled by the white cast members of Big Bang Theory, who seem to be getting more and more ready for their euthanasia with every passing season.
Friends Reunion
If the members of Friends would have been able to escape from their deaths, they would be filming a reunion show for Netflix right about now. As you can see, they would be almost unrecognizable if we saw them today. Absolutely incredible.
