This Election Is An Insult To Our Intelligence

We deserve so much better.

Whether or not you have strong feelings towards a candidate or not, this election is one of the worst I have seen in my 24 short years. It's like having to choose between a sexist oompa-loompa and lying con artist. Neither one sounds like a good idea for the Oval Office.

I, personally, am both anti-Trump and anti-Hillary. I cannot stand either, but I know one of them is going to end up running the country for the next four years until a better candidate comes along. Assassination attempts are probably going to fail, and I do not believe either of them is stupid enough to do something while in office to warrant being impeached. This infuriates me to no possible end.

Today's major voting populations are divided between those who want change and those who want to keep things just the way they are. This is how it always is, but this election is making everyone seem to forget what the USA was founded on.

Trump had claimed he wanted to ban Muslims. Then, he claimed he didn't mind if they were here, but they needed to wear an arm band. Sound familiar? -coughs:Hitler:coughs-

Clinton claims she never sent or received the classified emails. Just like someone who denies that they didn't cheat on their spouse while in office, but that's none of my business.

What I cannot stand the most is that there are commercials that are trying to mislead us into thinking that both Trump and Clinton have and/or haven't done things that they have or haven't done. One commercial in particular states that Clinton didn't make any changes while she's been in her office. It's not up to her completely to make changes. She may have tried, but the people under her may have voted to not pass whatever bill or proposal she wanted to make. It's not entirely up to her.

Then, there is a Trump commercial that states that Clinton wants to take away our 2nd Amendment rights to own a gun. That's not what she is intending on doing. She intends to make it harder for criminals and mentally ill individuals from getting the means to cause chaos and destruction

I hate even more that there are commercials disrespecting both candidates using things they have said many years ago before they were even thinking about this election. People are allowed to change their minds and their views when they are shown new information. It happens all the time, but apparently, someone isn't allowed to change their mind without being called a hypocrite in the political world.

This election is making the USA the laughing stock of the world. There are Tumblr and Twitter posts from people that are offering to take refugees from our country wanting to escape the regime that will follow either of these candidates. I even had a friend in England offer me his couch if Trump is elected. The world can see that this election isn't good for us, so please, go out and vote.

Make your number count. Try to make a change for the better. No one can help us but ourselves.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
