6 Things You'll Miss About Your Roommates Over The Summer

Throughout college, you're bound to have a number of roommates during the four years. Some roommates you'll like, and some you wont, but none the less, you'll most likely have them. If you're lucky enough to have good roommates, when summer happens, and you're forced to part ways for what seems like three long months, it will be sad because then you'll be apart from your best friends. Although you and your roommates might not get a long all the time, you know you've made some good memories with them over the months/years you've lived together. No matter how much your roommates might annoy you during the school year, it's safe to say that there are definitely certain things you will miss about having them when you're apart from them over summer!

1. Movie Nights

There's nothing like coming home after a long day of school, and just knowing you can unwind in your un-matching PJ's with a pint of Ben n Jerry's. Without being judged, your roommates will be doing the same thing while watching Mean Girlsfor the infinite time.

2. Cleaning Days

Admit it, some of your best times included blasting loud music while attempting to clean what seemed to be the messiest kitchen in the world. You probably used a dirty spatula as a microphone for lip syncing.

3. Late Night Talks

There is a lot of stress that comes with being a college student, and sometimes the best thing to do when you're stressed, is to vent about it. And who better to listen than your roomies?

4. When They Lend You Food

It's been a month since you've been to the grocery store and you keep saying you'll go "tomorrow" but luckily you have some great roommates who share their food with you so you don't starve.

5. Borrowing Clothes

Even though your closet is over flowing, there is always nothing to wear, so naturally, you ask your roomies if you can borrow their stuff. Depending on how many roommates you have, it's like you have three wardrobes other than your own!

6. Their Reminders

Having college roommates is like having two or three other brains to remind you of the simple things you might forget. They remind you about homework, to wash your sheets, to bring your keys, and most of all, they remind you how great you are. Sometimes you don't know what you would do without them.

It's safe to say that once you go home for summer, none of these things will be the same because it's not like you'll want to be borrowing clothes from your mom. So no matter if you get annoyed with your roommates sometimes, admit it, these are some of the things you will definitely miss about them over summer when you're apart. I know I will!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
