“Thanks, Mom” is a phrase my friends say to me regularly and one I’ve learned to embrace. I definitely did inherit the mom gene and have an innate need to 'mom' everyone. When I was little my family even called me MJ, short for Mother Jenny. As the oldest sibling and the 'mom friend' of my college friend group, I haven't taken the role lightly. I know my siblings and friends appreciate having their second mom around, even if I can be just as annoying as their own mom at times.
