Living on your own is a little overrated sometimes. In high school, you think that this is going to be the best experience of your life! I mean, don't get me wrong, it is, but you go through things that you weren't really expecting. Going to college and finally living on your own isn't ALL about parties, sleeping in, binge-watching Netflix, and eating anything you want. You learn to live without your parents and all about the new responsibilities you will have.
1. Cooking
You can eat anything you want. ... But how? I never really thought about how you actually have to learn how to cook. Cooking is fun and all but most of the time you have no motivation for any of that, especially if you don't know how.

2. When you are sick
Isn't it nice when your mom brings you tea and cough medicine and takes care of you until you feel better? In college, you are on your own. If you're lucky, your roommates can go out and get you some sort of medicine, but that's only if you're lucky. If not, you have to get up off of your death bed and go figure it out yourself.
3. Learning responsibility
You realize that your parents aren't there anymore to be waking you up when you sleep through your alarm, telling you to get out of bed, or doing your homework. You realize that without self-discipline, you will not succeed. College is so much fun, but you really need to be responsible in order to have everything go smoothly.
4. Learning to live with other people
Living with roommates isn't easy. You are thrown into a living situation with someone whom you may love dearly, but by the end of the year, hate. Everyone is different and have different habits, so trying to get accustomed to living with people who aren't like you is very difficult.
Living on your own is so much fun, but it is just a huge learning experience. In the end it is totally worth it, but during the process, sometimes you just wanna crawl up in a ball and go back home to where life just seemed a lot easier!
