No, we are not identical...

11 Things You Might Hear When You Are A Twin

Having a twin can be a blessing and a curse. I have a twin brother and he is the best! When people find out that I have a twin, I am usually bombarded by questions and statements that I have heard a million times.

1. Are you identical twins?

For the last time, you cannot be identical twins if one of you is a girl and the other is a boy; it's not possible. Identical twins share the same DNA and fraternal twins, for obvious reasons, do not.

2. Who's older?

Me. I am older by a couple of seconds. Usually when I try to pull the "I'm older!" card, my twin gets really upset and counters with, "only by a couple of seconds!" So, does a couple of seconds really count? Of course it does!

3. Can you read each other's mind?

Sadly, no we don't. However, we used to have the same dreams when we were little. Does that count?

4. Awww! I've always wanted a twin!

I mean yeah it's pretty cool, but it's just like having a regular sibling, only with a constant battle of seniority over each other.

5. Can you sense if something happens when you are separated?

I have yet to sense anything. Even when we went to colleges on opposite ends of the state, I don't recall this happening. Sorry to disappoint.

6. How's it feel having to share your birthday?

We may have to fight over what we get for a birthday supper, what movie we get to watch, and what we get to do... but we get two cakes, so yeah, it's not too shabby having to share.

7. Do you two get along really well?

About as well as regular siblings do; we get along really well at times and at others not so much.

8. Was it weird being in the same classes together in high school?

Only when I had to help him with homework...

9. Did you have to share everything growing up?

Some things, but since we are boy/girl twins we didn't have to share that much.

10. But you don't even look alike...

Well, I am a girl and he is a boy; if we looked too much alike it'd be a little weird. Not all twins have to look alike.

On the other hand, I also get a lot of:

11. Oh my god! You guys look exactly alike!!

I'll let you be the judge...

Having a twin really isn't as bad as it seems! I love having a twin. From the moment I was born, I have had someone there beside me every step of the way. We have been through so much together, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Love you, Twin!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
