Living in an apartment or townhouse for the first time can be stressful, super fun, and everything in between. There are several things I have discovered in just two short months of living with a kitchen and my own bathroom, and most of those things can be quite disgusting.
1. You have to learn how to cook.
By cooking I mean eggs, pasta, and some microwaveable chicken nuggets. Don't ever attempt to cook your mom's meals.
2. You have to clean your own toilet and shower. Ew.
3. The dishes in the sink do not wash themselves—you actually have to clean them.
4. The garbage gets full very quickly when you're living with six to nine people.
And it starts to smell.
5. Hairballs and dust bunnies never go away.
6. But on the bright side, you now have five other closets to pick clothes from.
7. Your pregames are 10 times more fun than in the dorms.
8. You can hide from people you don't want to see on campus.
9. You usually all end up in someone's room or at the kitchen table instead of using your common room to hangout.
10. You have unlimited access to ice cream and snacks.
11. Fish tanks and other pet cages are a pain to clean.
12. You have unlimited space to decorate for holidays.
Plus you can put funny pictures up of you and your housemates.
13. Things break, and you don't know how to fix them.
14. You hear everything that is going on in your house at all times of the day.
15. But you will have the greatest experience because you are with your best friends 24/7.
