So you've gotten your apartment keys, brought everything inside, and are in the process of filling your space and making it *super cute* but you forget about the little things that make it easier to actually do that. This is where I come into play because you get to not mess up like I did.
1. Velcro command strips will save your life when you try and hang anything up-- they are stronger than regular command strips and are easier to take off and move around whatever you hang.
2. Offer Up (the app) is easy to use and you can apply filters to make new listings pop up whenever you look... It's basically like Craigslist but you don't have to worry about the area map being too broad-- AND it's a nifty app so you can check it whenever you want.
3. Mason jars. They literally are the best thing since sliced bread-- you can stuff your bread into them if that floats your boat.
4. Michael's is great for making you look more artsy and creative than you actually are-- where else are you gonna find inexpensive useless crap to fill your already tiny apartment?
5. Don't skimp on the things you would use the most-- get a good couch and make sure that your bed is the most comfortable thing you've ever sat on cause it'll change your life.
6. Make sure to save money/time/space for school supplies and books... That's why you're at school even though we all deny it.
7. Fans go out of stock fast so go to Home Depot for big, inexpensive fans that work the best-- and put a square one in your window as a pseudo air conditioner cause you look very handy and it works the best.
8. Starbucks iced coffee is sold by the gallon at the grocery store now-- and it's GOOD. And cheap, so that's a positive.
9. Get a calendar for you and your roommate so that you know schedules and whatnot-- that way you can avoid eating alone and can put off a Netflix binge until they come back to you.
10. Spread out pictures and make things bright, it helps balance things and makes it seem like you know all about feng shui and all that jazz.
