There are many things I notice that my best friend and I do regularly. I'm pretty positive there are tons of BFFs that do the same.
1. Cuddle. We're both exhausted but still want to hang. So this equals turning on the TV and cuddling with each other until we finally just decide to go to bed.
2. You coordinate outfits. While this can go as far as purposely wearing the same t-shirt, it's more often simply planning on wearing something nicer than normal on the same day.
3. Ignore odd looks in public. Sometimes we are referencing an inside joke or acting ridiculous, which elicits judgmental stares from strangers in public. Somehow with your best friend, these odd looks don't phase you for a second. We just continue whatever shenanigans we are up to.
4. Communicate with just looks. Sometimes when we talk to people, they say something that requires a look. You know the one. The one where you both get that humorous glint in your eyes and you both know that the other understands exactly what you are thinking at that moment.
5. Go out on late night food raids. Whenever I decide that I need food, my best friend happens to need it too, every time. So whether it's 7 o'clock or midnight, my best friend and I are always up for a food run.
6. Read each other's minds. This goes back to the food thing. I can be across campus thinking about how I'm hungry and want to get food and a few minutes later I'll have a text from my best friend asking if I want to get some food with her. The odd thing is that we are usually thinking about going to the same place. On another note, there are many times where we say the exact same thing at exactly the same time. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I like to think our minds are in sync.
7. Have jam sessions in the car. Me and my best friend can't drive anywhere without blasting the speakers in the car and singing at the top of our lungs. It just isn't possible.
8. Tell each other about any and every run-in with a boy. The second an interaction with anyone from the male species is over, we are either texting each other about it or running to the other's room to talk about it. Even if she's sleeping, she will know about it immediately. We discuss, analyze and consider everything. It might be excessive, but we're girls -- it's what we do.
9. Hide from the same people. If my best friend is avoiding someone, I usually am too. Everyone knows we are best friends so it's best to avoid people she is avoiding so that there are no awkward questions.
10. Are basically attached at the hip. If you have to go to some event or another, you can almost always count on your best friend being there for backup. On rare occasions when you aren't together, people ask where your friend is.
11. Go on spur-of-the-moment "dates". I don't know how many times my best friend and I have gone to see a movie, go shopping or do some other fun activity at random. We definitely plan some of these things, but the random ones are often the best and the most fun. There is something to be said for neglecting responsibilities for something fun for once.
