Stress...The five letter word that we all hate to hear yet experience way too often. The next time the world is getting you down and you are feeling stressed out remember these 10 easy ways to relax. From working out to eating your stress away, there are endless ways to calm yourself down when the stress of your life is getting to you.
1. Workout your worries.
Endorphin production is one of the best ways to physically release stress. Grab a gym buddy or go by yourself, even a 15-minute walk will get your body going and help you on your way to being worry free. If your stress is stemming from anger check out your local gym for kickboxing classes. It's a double win getting to take your anger out on a punching bag as you burn calories.
2. Yoga.
If stress is bogging you down, try meditating. Whether you light some candles and lay on the rug in your bedroom like I do or hit your weekly yoga class, it is a great way to alleviate stress and calm yourself down.
3. Bake.
Baking is a double stress reliever because not only is it fun to mix up ingredients and try new recipes, but you get to eat the delicious masterpiece when it’s all done. Eating your stress away is always a go-to stress reliever.
4. Surround yourself with positive people (and puppies).
When you are in a funk, feeling down, and stressed out, surround yourself with people who will wipe your worries away. Friends, family, and even pets will be your partner’s in crime to turn any frown upside down.
5. Get lost in a good show or book.
Netflix just restocked over 20 new shows and seasons so if you are feeling stressed cuddle up in bed and forget about what is stressing you by catching up on your favorite show. Although I am not a big reader, when I’m stressed there is nothing like getting lost in a good book to help me forget about the world around me.
6. Go for a drive.
Turn up the music, roll down the windows, and go for a stroll. Signing at the top of your lungs with the wind blowing in your face and the sun kissing your face...driving is one of the best ways to relieve stress.
7. Take a bath.
Wash your worries away by taking a nice warm bubble bath. Stock up on bath bombs like this one so you’re always prepared to wash even the most stressful days away.
8. Shop till you drop.
Although your wallet may not be happy, your heart always will. If you are stressed, go treat yourself to something nice to remind yourself that you are “too blessed to be stressed.”
9. Cry.
Of course, no one likes to admit it, but sometimes you just have to cry and let it all out. I'm sure we've all had those “I don’t even know why I’m crying” moments, but once you let it all out you are guaranteed to feel better.
10. Dance it out.
Christina Yang and Meredith Grey are the perfect example of how to dance it out. When you are stressed, blast the music and dance with your "person" until you forget about your worries.
