Things We Should Leave Behind In 2016

Nobody can deny that 2016 was an absolutely insane year. Catching Pokemón ended in some deaths, a gorilla became more important than the presidential election, and clowns began to take over our country. I have a list of some things that we should leave behind in 2016.

1. Harambe

Harambe took the world by storm after a boy fell into his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. As heartbreaking as the incident, which ended in Harambe's death, was the fact that the memes were greatly overused. We get it- #RIP, but it's over now, and it's gotten old. Get it all out of your system before the new year!

2. Clowns

For some reason people at one point or another found clowns to be friendly and funny. In 2016, that certainly changed when clowns began threatening people all over the country. Okay, but seriously why did this ever become a thing??? NOT COOL.

3. Hating other people solely because of their political views

The 2016 presidential election caused a great deal of hatred and division, solely based on who people were voting for. Let's be big boys and girls and politely disagree in 2017.

4. Political correctness

Why do we have to conceal the truth just so no one gets their feelings hurt? We have gotten way to politically correct in 2016.

5. Your ex

More and more people keep running back to their exes. Remember why you made them an ex in the first place. In the wise words of Beyoncé, "Tell him BOY BYE."

6. Oversized chokers

Chokers are meant to enhance your neck, not hide it. The oversized chokers need to go in 2017. In no way am I against a nice choker that doesn't make you look like you are wearing a neck brace. I dig bringing back the 90's!

7. Pokemón Go

Pokemón Go was everywhere and anywhere when it first hit the app store. I even saw my managers playing it while working. Customers at the grocery store I worked at even asked if they could go in the stock room to catch them. It was fun at first, but then crazing stuff started happening. Catch them all before 2017.

2017, we are begging you to be better than 2016. We can't handle another year of insanity. Please, thank you, see you soon! Peace out 2016, we won't miss you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
