Things We Forgot To Thank Our Suitemates For

We all have our wonderful and sometimes not so wonderful roommates and suite mates. However, we all also have those people that are just kind of always in your room, even though they don't actually live there. So here's a list of things you should remember to thank both the official and unofficial suite mates for.

For always being down to be a homework buddy when you have a quiz the next morning at 8:30 AM

For making you think that you're totally not crazy for Facebook stalking that cute guy from last night, and joining in on the stalking with you instead of doing your homework

And for taking your phone from you when you really need to get some work done

And for not judging you when you begin to stress eat from all work you have... and even joining you

And for waking you up the next morning to go to the gym to burn off those study-calories

For being there to celebrate with you after you pass that quiz

And for being there when you don't pass the quiz

For not judging you for the crazy shit you do when drunk

For not letting you go see that boy when you are way too drunk because they know you'll regret it in the morning

And for always being able to understand exactly what you're trying to say when you're drunk

And for always being just as excited as you are when the drunk 3 AM Domino's comes

For never dealing with your bullshit, and never letting you believe it either.

For hating all the same people that you hate, even if they've never met them before

For always supporting you when you want to start a new diet

And for supporting you when you break it

And for just, at the end of the day, being the people that you want to tell about your day

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
