Christmas is a wonderful time full of joy and giving, but we all know that one person who takes it a bit too far. I like to call these people Christmas dorks and I happen to be a bit of a specialist on them, given that I am one. These people take Christmas to another level. They live for the lights, the jingle bells, the mistletoe and the works. Their spirit can be contagious and of course, joyous, in doses. Living with a Christmas dork can mean being burdened with an overwhelming amount of holiday spirit but, if you know what to expect, the holidays can be bearable.
24/7 Christmas music
"Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph" are all well and good but there are only so many times you can hear "Wham’s Last Christmas."
Christmas wonderland
You know you live with a Christmas dork when decorations and lights are up and ready by Black Friday.
Unless it’s a holiday movie, you’re not watching it
You can practically recite every line of the movie, "Elf," thanks to your resident Christmas dork, but the fun really starts on Christmas day when the holiday movie marathon begins.
Christmas head to toe
They have any and everything Christmas: Santa and Elf hats; reindeer socks; snowman sweaters; ornament earrings – you get the picture.
Cookies, brownies and gingerbread, oh, my!
One perk is that, for a full month, you have your own in-house baker. Snowflake cookies and gingerbread houses shall adorn all the counters!
Gifts are filled with thought
Behind the lights and music, Christmas is about giving to others and no one does that better than a Christmas dork. They will plan the perfect gift months in advance and tug on all the right heart strings.
