Labor Day weekend is right around the corner. You're probably thinking to yourself: "How can i make this Labor Day better than my normal weekends?" Look no further! You've come to the right place. Stick to these 5 F's, and your Labor Day is guaranteed to earn an A+!
1. Food
This weekend, the best the cafeteria has to offer just isn't going to cut it. Whether it's a cookout, a lobster fest, or a new restaurant you've been dying to try, action is required to take your food desires to the next level. Labor Day is notorious for being outside and enjoying one of the last warm weekends together as a community. That experience can be greatly affected by the food you choose to enjoy. Choose wisely.
2. Friends
Having good food is great, but where the memories are really made is with the people you're enjoying it with. With students coming home from college for the weekend, or friends in your hometown you've known forever, now is your chance to make up for lost time. Laugh harder than you normally do. Do things you would classify as stupid during a normal work week. This holiday was designed for the working class; let loose, you all deserve it.
3. Family
As we get older, our lives continually get crazier. When we say we'll call our parents back, and innocently forget; they still actively want to hear from us. This weekend is the prime time for an overdose of family bonding time and fewer catch up questions over the phone later on. Also, as rough as family bonding time can be, some of the best memories can come from board games and tackle football with them, (as lame as it may sound.) They're worth keeping around.
4. Flannels
Yes, this includes getting in touch with wildlife and leaving the tv screen behind. Labor Day Weekend is a great opportunity for camping out and star gazing. Sometimes getting away, even for a weekend, is the best way to wind down and recover from a busy week. Since this is the worker's getaway, what could be more restful than the bliss of being in nature? Grab a few friends, some ingredients for s'mores, and the stories you have to come home too will be worth telling.
5. FUN!
The most important component to any good weekend is having FUN!! You could be anywhere and still be able to make your own fun. Walking into this weekend with an open mind and not sticking to an agenda will open up so many doors for fun experiences and maybe even new opportunities. It also means stepping out of your comfort zone. Don't let being embarrassed or trying something new stop you from doing something you could really enjoy!
Throw these 5 components together this Labor Day Weekend, and it's guaranteed to be the best one yet!
