8 Things That Money Can't Buy

It seems like in today's world all we do is focus on money. Many people's lives revolve around it. Making sure they have enough to pay rent, pay all the bills, get groceries which is all good and well. But it becomes a problem when it starts to completely run your life because you allow it too. We have many things in life that money can't buy for us. And here are just a few:

1. Character

Or you could label it as 'personality.' It's who you are as a person, maybe why someone likes you or doesn't like you. Like having a great sense of humor or maybe being a little too dry. Your character defines who you are when other people talk to you.

2. Manners

We all grew up learning basic manners like to say excuse me when you burp, hold the door for people, etc. But as most of us know when we go out into public not everyone likes to use their manners all the time especially when they don't know you personally. There is road rage for not sharing the road, words spewed at people that cut you off in the store.

3. Respect

Just as said with manners not a lot of people like to give respect when they don't personally know someone. But in every relationship, friendship, and family people look for respect and that's how everything is held together. Imagine life without respect..... the world would be a very hostile, lonely place.

4. Patience

Life has a funny way of throwing things at us when we are least expecting it and we're all waiting for the good to come. But like most things it takes a lot of patience. We all want to run into everything good in life but a lot of things are good because of the timing. The worth is worth it.

5. Trust

Everyone wants to trust the people they interact with especially in a relationship/ friendship. They are built on trust.

6. Integrity

Many people get the definition of integrity a little messed up. Integrity is being honest and having strong morals. We have to have integrity for many things in life.

7. Common Sense

Not everyone has it.. or we like to say that some people don't have it. It's there.. down deep.

8. Love

Last but not least, my favorite expression of all time; money can't buy love. Yes, we like to give presents to the people we love on birthdays, Christmas, Valentines, and all other holiday's but that's not what makes us love a person. Love is caring for someone with your whole heart because of who they are not because of the money in their pocket.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
