Let's be honest, HGTV is your guilty pleasure and because of that, you've learned a lot of random things. No one can quite fix a house like Chip and Joanna Gaines (or have a better relationship, am I right?). Here are a few things that happen when you watch too much HGTV.
1. You start contemplating whether you should incorporate Shiplap into your dream home.
Blame it all on Joanna Gaines, but man does that Shiplap
2. Is Crown Molding necessary? No, but you want it.
Crown Molding is what can make or break a space for some of us. Why not spend the extra money on top of the mountain of cash you've already put aside.
3. You start daydreaming about the size of your perfect Island.
Is your island going to extend your counter space? Is it going to be where you eat? What kind of shape is it going to have? There is a lot to think about for this extra counter space in the middle of the kitchen. But an island....
4. Give me stained wood floors or give me war!
You are well aware that this is a very costly move but the character it will add to the house is outweighing how much money it will take to get done. But maybe you could get away with faux floors???
5. You start questioning design choices of HGTV shows.
Like, does that Subway tile really go with those cabinets? You know that you are nowhere near an expert, but you have watched this show enough to know that the concept may be a little out there. Stop trying to make concrete countertops happen already.
6. You try to predict what house will be best for the couple in the episode you are watching.
Taking everything into consideration, you know what you think would be the couple's dream house. Sometimes you are blown out of the water because the couple goes in the complete opposite direction.
7. Have you watched this episode before or not?
Maybe you have seen parts of it? Maybe this episode reminds you of another one? But it doesn't really matter, you are going to watch the rest of the episode anyway. It just reminds you of how much you really watch HGTV on the daily.
8. You wonder what it would be like to work at Magnolia Farms.
Since the first time you saw Chip and Joanna Gaines on the screen, you fell in love. You gave up on the daydream of being one of their children. So the next best thing you could think of would be to work with them. Where is your application at?
9. You get mad when a couple cannot see the design potential of a house.
Couples know that they are going on a show, so you would think that they would know how things go. They have no vision and make it impossible to find a house that could potentially work for them. So please, you are driving us crazy, pick the freaking house that is obviously perfect for you.
10. When "Love It Or List It" comes on and the couple refuses to give any more money to get all the things the want in their current house and you want to pull your hair out.
The couples have a rather long list of things they want and what seems to be a small budget. Do these couples not understand that things always come up and they are not going to be able to get everything that they want? You might need to shell out more money or stop being so needy because they don't need to have that extra window that adds nothing to space.
11. You don't understand why some couples refuse to move out of their current neighborhood.
How many people do these couples think are moving out of their houses in their current neighborhood? Do they not understand that if they looked even one neighborhood over they could possibly find their dream house?
Watching HGTV has become your favorite pass time and you are not ashamed about it. Fixer Upper marathons are your favorite but any show will do, as long as you are watching HGTV.
