13 Things to Thank Your College Best Friends For

The meaning of friendship takes on a whole new definition in college. Often, by the end of freshman year you have met completely new friends than you once had in high school. It is likely that these new friends become close to you in a way you cannot compare to any other stage of your life – you and your college best friends develop a bond in which you experience the good, the bad, and the ugly of each others’ lives.   

Here are some things you should thank your college best friends for:

1. Eating pizza with you at 2 a.m. Every. Single. Weekend.    

2. Listening to you complain on a regular basis about how much you hate school and your life. 

3. Putting your dishes away for you and folding your laundry when you’re having a stressful week.     

4. Baking cookies with you on a regular basis once you finally move into off campus housing.     

5. Giving you a shoulder to cry on when you’re going through one of those inevitable college heartbreaks.    

6. Letting you raid their closets every weekend because you have posted pictures on social media in all of your tops, and now you have nothing to wear.     

7. Having dance parties with you in your living room so you can act like total weirdos and blow off some steam. 

8. Dragging you out when you say you want to be lame and stay at home, and making that night one of the best nights you’ve had in a while.     

9. Lying in bed and binge-watching Netflix with you on lazy Sundays.

10. Not judging you when you haven’t showered or done your make-up for days during exam week.

11. Taking care of you when you're lying in bed sick because your mom can't anymore.

12. Being there for you at 3 a.m. when you can’t sleep and you find yourself having an in-depth conversation about all of your fears and hopes for the future. 

13. Providing comfort and advice when you think your life is falling apart but really you’re just being dramatic.  

Basically, your college best friends are there for you in every aspect. While living with and being around these people pretty much 24/7 for four years, you create a bond you have never quite experienced. One that you never thought possible, and one that nothing will ever be able to replace.
