Things most people fail to realize when driving
Some people should not operate a vehicle because they do mindless things. I have road rage and I can not stand being stuck behind people who think these behaviors are acceptable. There should be punishments for some of this stuff because ignorance is always dangerous.
A large number people do not realize that they are not the only person on the road, and they don't look around while driving. You inevitably become a hazard while blindly traveling on the road.
Do not just drive for yourself, that is how you cause accidents. It is very possible to trap someone into an accident and slickly escape the situation.
Analyze as much of the road as you can, both sides, its driving, you never know what could happen. How does someone fail to realize this? It is pure common sense! Most of this is:
Dragging or lagging very far behind people that are in front of you is not only rude and aggravating, but you are literally creating virtual traffic. All the space you have to make up for takes extra time and adds up very quickly.
You only need to stop far enoughbehind someone so that you can see the bottom of their back tires, you do not need to stop half a car, an entire car length or even more behind someone that also creates virtual traffic, even when the light is red. Again all of the space you have to make up for once the light turns green takes unnecessary extra time.
There is absolutely no acceptable reason for anyone to begin to stop while still being at least four to five car lengths behind the traffic in front of them; you do not need to stop that early; if your brakes are that bad do not drive.
If you are going straight and happen to be the first person at a red light where it is okay to turn right on red and you are not going to get over to the left lane and it's open; please move, do not sit in front of someone who could have turned making them wait like a pretentious jerk; at least attempt to let them go ahead.
Cops or construction does not mean drive 10 miles per hour. I repeat cops or construction does not mean drive 10 miles per hour. Great.
My most serious trigger when driving is about merging. I would love to know why in the world, if you see an obstruction coming up in your path, would you drive all the way up to the blockage and then try to bombard your way into the line? Who are you that you can not get over sooner, if not when it first appears while the traffic net to you was loose, and flow in the line? That person is the second biggest idiot of this scenario because they are actually holding up the line that could be flowing faster if it was not having to abruptly and repeatedly stop. The biggest idiot of this scenario is the person that let's the impatient jerk into the formerly flowing line. The impatient driver deserves to have to sit and wait for clarity for the bad decision they made; don’t try to be a good Samaritan.
On the freeway the lane furthest left is the fast or passing lane. Do not believe that just because you are going faster than 65 mph that you can stay driving in the fast lane. Reality check; 65 mph is not fast. If that is fast to you get your ears checked out; you probably have some kind of equilibrium issue.
When entering the freeway wouldn't it be a good idea, if you have to combine with the ongoing faster traffic, not to drag slowly on the path where you meet that faster traffic? What part of a person truly believes that it is within the bounds of physics for your slower moving car to not be hit by a faster car coming down the same lane?
A freeway is a 60 miles per hour minimum speed zone; so why would you be able to safely travel half that speed in the same area? It takes a coward to just slow down and stop everything versus taking the risks that come with the skills to successfully merge.
A person who slowly enters a freeway is someone who lacks the ability to quickly scan and analyze their surroundings while monitoring speed and the multiple lanes of traffic. Little do they know that this is bad for a few reasons. I'll tell you about the two main reasons.
First when someone cowers while driving it affects everyone driving behind them. Other people are now slowed down and deterred from entering normally which automatically puts them in the same danger.
Secondly being behind someone entering the freeway slowly is just simply aggravating because you are unnecessarily stressing your engine having to heavily accelerate to restore correct traffic flow. You are forced to play a game of catch-up when you are not even the jerk who was dumb enough to think they could safely enter fast traffic by going slow. Speed is one of those things in life where the opposite components are usually dangerous when together.
If you can not smoothly accomplish the tasks required of you to operate a vehicle then you have no business driving.
Last thing I notice is that people fail to realize that when driving, it is not okay to remain back at the line until its free to turn. You are most surely allowed, if not encouraged, to scoot up to give yourself and others a larger window to catch a gap in the oncoming traffic. As a common courtesy, no one should block the people that are behind them and make them all wait for a green light.
When people are careless with paying attention while driving, it is not only unsafe it is disrespectful. To deter anyone from going where they need or want to because you are basically going bike speed where cars drive, in a car..., is very impertinent. If you can not have respect for other people and the environment of the road, stay off.
