These past couple years, makeup has transformed to a whole new level. Makeup has been around forever (even in ancient times, women crushed up berries and swiped the stain on their lips). But now all over the media we hear about contouring, eyebrows, and Kylie Jenner's lip color. These are all things that makeup lovers understand.

1. Spending 30 minutes watching Jaclyn Hill apply her makeup is absolutely normal.
Watching beauty videos on Youtube is how we spend our free time. You might think it's weird or pointless, but trust us, it's not.

2. When people say that you shouldn't fill in your eyebrows, you can't help but roll your eyes.
We KNOW that there are some people that fill in their eyebrows like squares, but filling in your brows the correct way can make a person look 5,000 times better. Your eyebrows frame your face. They should be defined.

3. You can't believe that some people can fit all of their makeup in one tiny makeup bag.
Some days, you're jealous that they can gather all of their makeup in one convenient place, but on the other hand you know that you wouldn't be able to survive without your excessive makeup collection.

4. All of your friends and family ask your opinion about various makeup brands.
By no means are you an expert, but you start acting like a professional makeup artist when someone asks you a question about makeup.

5. When someone has too harsh bronzer or blush, you cringe so hard.
We all know that anyone can wear makeup however they like, but when you see someone that looks more clown than human, you can't help but be concerned.

6. Wearing a bold lip color is bound to make you anxious.
When you're wearing a bold lip, you just want to have a mirror handy the whole time because who knows if it's on your teeth or smeared all over your face. Bold lip color = bold decision.

7. You have to laugh when guys say they prefer when girls wear no makeup.
Oh boys, so naive. I guarantee the girls that you think aren't wearing makeup, are. And all of your celebrity crushes? They're cake faces just like the rest of us.

8. You avoid going to Ulta or Sephora at all costs because you know you can't control yourself.
If you walk into a makeup store, you know you aren't walking out of their empty handed.

9. Fake lashes are the most frustrating thing to apply.
One must have complete concentration to successfully apply fake lashes.

10. You have so many eyeshadow palettes already but still get the newest one.
You probably won't use up all of your eyeshadow in your lifetime, but you'll still rationalize getting another palette.

11. When your eyeliner matches on the first try, you know it's going to be a good day.
It's such a rare occurrence that this calls for celebration.

12. People are shocked when they see your makeup brush collection.
And they usually say, "Wow, I only have like 4 brushes." Yeah, but all of my brushes have their own unique purpose in my makeup routine, okay!!

13. Your biggest fear is that your makeup actually looks horrible and you are in no way pulling it off.
Did I actually do a good job or is it just in my head? Is this makeup look really ugly? It's stressful stuff.

14. Picking out what lip color to wear for the day is the biggest struggle.
You most likely have every shade of lip color under the sun. Not only that, but you also have to choose between lipstick, liquid lipstick, lip gloss, matte or satin finish.

15. You know that wearing makeup is fun, and just because you wear it doesn't make you less than anyone else or less confident.
The moral of the story is, makeup is fun. Makeup lovers cherish the time in front of their mirrors where they can be creative and artistic. We're allowed to wear bold, fun makeup looks. If we wanted to look "normal," then we wouldn't put makeup on at all. To all my fellow beauty lovers, don't let anyone make you feel bad for loving makeup. Have fun, experiment, and remember, it all washes off at the end of the day, anyway!
