If you’re like me, taking people for granted is like a specialty. Someone once told me that there would be times in your life, married or single, that a boy just can’t be there the way you need him, and that is what best friends are for. Some people may have several or just one, but everyone has that one person they can rely on and who will always be there for them. Someone who will come eat ice cream with you at three in the morning, who will lift you off the ground after you find out that someone has passed away, who knows everything about you and will never judge you. Someone who will be there by your side as you learn and mess up, and will laugh at you and cry with you. Someone who will pray for you and hurt with you. These best friends are the people who will be there when no other boy or friend is.

Sometimes, we take for granted the people who put up with us on a daily basis and deal with all of our dramatic breakdowns. So, bestie, this is why I’m thankful for you.

1. Thank you for always being down to late night even when you’re trying to be healthy, but McChicken’s are bae.
2. Thank you for always being my partner in crime and stalking with me no matter the time or place.
3. Thank you for supporting my Netflix addiction, or having one worse than mine.
4. Thank you for always having my back when the crazies come around.
5. Thank you for always being down to sing and dance because, let's be real, is there more to life?
6. Thank you for always having jam sessions and not making fun of me because I still make CDs and, apparently, that’s weird.
7. Thank you for telling me no when I think it’s smart to yell at bouncers, or try to.
8. Thank you for sharing your wardrobe and accepting the fact that it may be a month before you see it again -- or three.
9. Thank you for being my automatic dance and karaoke partner.
10. Thank you for being patient and never killing me because “I just have nothing to wear.”
11. Thank you for always picking me up if I ever need a ride.
12. Thank you for sharing your family with me and inviting me to dinner and vacations.
13. Thank you for never judging me on the stupid decisions I make.
14. Thank you for always being down to just wear the ultimate outfit -- Nikes and a T-shirt.
15. Thank you for always being down to walk the scenic route because Zydeco has a neverending way of leaving us stranded.
16. Thank you for always being honest and truthful.
17. Thank you for always encouraging and pushing me to do well in school.
18. Thank you for holding me accountable and pushing me to stay strong in my faith.
19. Thank you for keeping all of my secrets.
20. Thank you for listening to me ramble on and on about stupid boys and stupid drama.
21. Thank you for pulling all nighters to study for a test we should have started studying for weeks ago.
22. And, finally, thank you for being the best best friend I could ever ask for, and being you.
