When you were growing up, there were undoubtedly things that your parents, aunts/uncles and grandparents said that you did not understand. You said to yourself "I'm NEVER gonna say that when I'm an adult" or "I'm never gonna do that when I'm older." To prove the point that we all failed in that, here are a list of those common things. Also, a few things we all said that probably didn't come true.
1. 'Bye-Bye' when you hang up the phone.
Every. Time.
2. I'm never going to drink alcohol (some of us still stick to this. No shame.)
*Pours glass of wine that can hold an entire bottle*
3. I am never going to utter a swear word.
I turn into such a potty mouth when I stub my toe walking in the dark.
4. Kids are annoying (cause you were a kid at the time and you did not think of yourself that way).
I love kids....but not the screaming.
5. Back when I was in high school.
Because five years is an eternity ago.
6. I'm going to meet the love of my life by the time I'm 20.
*Can't catch breath from laughing so hard*
7. These kids today...what are they doing now? What is dabbing?
SERIOUSLY, WHY IS DABBING A THING? Let me just stand here like I'm sneezing into my elbow, it's cool.
8. I will be the trendiest person ever.
I like having all my parts covered, thank you very much.
9. I need a drink. Ya know...of the alcoholic variety.
$1 margarita at Applebee's? I'M IN!
10. I'm never going to need help with anything.
Really? You have to be kidding me with this one?
11. I told you so.
Because life makes you petty enough to keep score.
12. Because I said so, that's why.
Because we all eventually channel our inner parent...
13. I'm getting too old for this.
I'm 22, standing up shouldn't be this difficult.
14. I don't know about that...8:00 p.m. seems pretty late.
I need a pretty convincing reason to get out of my pajamas.
15. I'm never going to have any debt. (That's cute).
Two words: Student Loans. Two other words: Car loans.
16. Mom/Dad/Authority figure actually knew what they were talking about.
Seems crazy, right?
17. I'm not ready to grow up.
As my father always says, you have to grow old, not up.
