Frank Gallagher

What we love: Little to nothing.

What we hate: Just about everything.

Fiona Gallagher

What we love: Fiona might be the most resilient character ever to grace our television screens. She is the definition of a survivor; something we can all respect. She cares deeply for her family and friends and she always comes through for them, which is amazing considering her long track record of people not coming through for her. She’s got a little bit of that wild side we all wish we had, and I think we can all agree we wish we had that facial bone structure.

What we hate: We cringe every time we see Fiona with a guy. She impulsively jumps from one to another faster than we can keep up with, and each relationship is messier than the last. She cheats like it’s her job and she doesn’t seem to show too much remorse for it. Her self-destructive decisions are almost too disappointing to be entertaining.

Carl Gallagher

What we love: Carl has been making us laugh since season 1. Somehow, his aggressive side is more charming than it is disturbing, and if we’re being honest we can admit that he looks pretty cute in cornrows.

What we hate: Carl causes more problems than he fixes. He gets himself into ridiculously sticky situations for the sake of doing so, and it has gotten a little old. He gives us an urge to jump into the TV screen and… well, parent him.

Veronica Fischer

What we love: Is it bad that we wish Veronica was our best friend and not Fiona’s? We love her sass and style, and we love that she always says what she means. Veronica is true to herself throughout the entire series, something we can all appreciate, because we know that can be hard to do. That man candy on her arm also doesn’t hurt her situation.

What we hate: Sometimes being completely true to yourself means hurting others in the process. Veronica has definitely had her moments, but all-in-all there really isn’t much to hate.

Lip Gallagher

What we love: We could go on for days about Lip Gallagher. He is the dark haired, handsome, bad boy genius we have all been waiting for. We love to watch him cause mischief, and watching someone make such terrible decisions has never been so dreamy. He is protective of those he loves and is unafraid to do what is necessary to take care of them…also hot.

What we hate: Lip has a tendency to be a pessimist, and thus doesn’t realize his own potential. We all wish we could jump in the TV and guide him towards the light.

Kevin Ball

What we love: We love to love Kevin loving Veronica. He makes us believe in true- sometimes crazy- but true love. Kevin is motivated to do well for himself and for his family and there is honestly nothing more attractive in this world. Sometimes a little dopey, but always a lot cute; we just love Kevin.

What we hate: Like literally every other character on this show, Kevin has had some questionable moments, but nothing worth hating.

Debbie Gallagher

What we love: Um…let me know if you think of anything.

What we hate: Debbie was annoying from the very beginning, and has continually become worse and worse. She makes absolutely mind-blowingly stupid choices and basically never listens to anybody’s advice about them. Time and time again we have watched Debbie in horror, and sometimes she reminds us of our middle school selves- and that is not a good thing.

Ian Gallagher

What we love: No matter how many times Ian has made a mistake, we are somehow always rooting for him. Ian has faced a lot of hardships in his young life; and we are impressed at how resilient he can be despite them. He is strong hearted and well intended, and we like that.

What we hate: Sometimes Ian feels like he doesn’t need help form anybody; but everybody needs help sometimes. We wish Ian would learn to take advantage of the fact that his family loves and would do anything for him.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
