If you have worked for Enterprise, are currently working for Enterprise, or will hopefully starting your career at Enterprise these are things you have learned, are still learning,or will be learning in the near future.
I can't say I know it all because I don't, being an intern shows you only so much, but throughout the past few months of being here it has been a blessing. It is such a fun work place, and it definitely has a learning curve when you start off!
Let's walk through a day at Enterprise (with some extras/random ones throughout the list).
1. Nobody calls it Enterprise, it is known as ERAC.
2. You represent your branch, and your branch only.. you better be number 1.
3. No need to buy super expensive shoes because the wear and tear of walking all day and being in the bay catches up to you.
4. It is not a garage it is a bay.
5. Nobody can beat your work family, they have a place in your heart.
6. ERAC has lots of specific vocabulary, but every area has its own.
7. The legendary matrix printers.
8. We probably go to Belle Tire at least 4 times a day.
9. Having to question if the card is a credit, or debit, then realizing it is prepaid.
10. The tire pressure light is both a blessing and a curse.
11. We all love to succeed and see one another succeed.
12. There is always someone who complains about only have one key, and the other one that complains that one key just isn't enough.
13. If you are a guy you have tons of white, and blue button downs.
14. The uncomfortable moment you have with a customer when there card declines.
15. Having to explain the $250 deposit over the total.
16. We volunteer at many different places.
17. Work outing's are always a blast.
18. Boats for days... three piece? two piece? I'll take it
19. You need a 15 passenger van for 2 weeks, full protection? Yeah, no problem.
20. Explaining that Uncle Sam needs his share too.
21. The line you repeat with every customer "Let me grab the gas and mileage and then we can do a walk around together."
22. It is a fun place to be/work.
23. Economy cars... enough said.
24. 11am calls should not be made before 11am because some people get random days off and yes they are still sleeping at 8:30am.
25. Calling and confirming for the next day means rental ready and a happy boss.
26. LOFR'SSSSSSSSSSSS
27. The iPad's are the greatest and sometimes hardest things to have around.
28. Never forget to show them what side the gas tank is on, how to turn the lights off and on... and especially where the wind sheild wipers are.
29. Wearing your badge with your tire gauge, and the rectangle damage reminder is key.
30. A quarter tank or more and we are in the clear.
Like I said before I am only a CAR intern, so I don't know it all, but throughout my time at branch 2063 in Michigan this summer, I have learned so much and continue to make great connections with tons of people. Branch 2063 won't be the same without our crew all together, but I can't wait to watch everyone move forward, and succeed like we did all summer long.
Thanks ERAC for all the memories!
