Leaving college for the summer is a bittersweet experience. On the one hand, you've established yourself in this place throughout the past academic year. You've set up your room and settled into your routine and it feels uncomfortable to disrupt that balance you've created in your life at your home away from home. From roommates to darties to dining halls to public transportation, college is chock-full of unique experiences that nothing else can ever come close to. On the other hand, it'll be nice to go home for the summer, sleep in your own bed, and not have to wake up for class every morning.
1. Not having to explain to my mom where I'm going
Especially in the middle of the night

2. Having all my friends live within half a mile
Keeping in touch when you're all back home is unsurprisingly a lot harder when you aren't just down the hall from one another

3. Using meal points (aka fake money) for food
If I have to shell out real money for groceries this summer, I might throw a fit

4. Being close enough to walk everywhere
Especially when I roll out of bed 15 minutes before I have to be somewhere

5. Parties
Free, readily available alcohol + dozens of your closest friends = the time of your life

6. The abundance of things going on
My calendar is constantly full of fun, new, exciting things to do

This will be me this summer when there's nothing to do
7. Being able to do multiple loads of laundry at the same time
Although I'm thrilled to not have to be paying by the load this summer

8. The library
Having a designated place to sit and do whatever is something I take for granted until it's gone

9. The free gym
Having to pay to work out sounds like my personal definition of living hell

10. The campus environment
From the student section at games to the line for sandwiches at lunch, there's a distinct feeling of being on campus that I'll miss when I leave
11. Taking a nap whenever I feel like it
Brownie points if you say you're taking a "15-minute power nap" and wake up 3+ hours later
