5 Things That Happen on Carts

Thank you for being a pain in the A**

Working at a grocery store you hear a multitude of things that make you want to rip your hair out, I've worked at a grocery store for a little bit over a year now and I can honestly say I've almost walked out on multiple occasions including today. Ive seen multiple articles addressing what checkers hear on a daily basis and I will agree with all of those, but for the purposes of this article I want to address the things you hear when you are outside pushing carts.

1. You must be pretty strong.

Actually I'm not strong but thanks anyways, It takes everything I have to push these 6 carts up that hill but it's my job so I don't really have a choice.

2. You probably don't have to go to the gym.

Before you say it, yes it is a good workout. But you're right I don't have to go to the gym but thats really just cause I wasn't going to go anyways. I'm not really a gym person.

3. Do you want another one?

No I really don't thanks though, there is actually a cart corral right there next to you but sure walk halfway across the parking lot to give me tht cart I could not want less.

4. You should get one of those electric things that wal-mart has.

Let me get right on that. But thanks for your suggestion it's not like I hear it 10 times a day.

5. Do you need some help?

No strange old man I do not need your help, though I see you are going to give it to me anyways. Thanks for putting one hand on my row of carts and "pushing" up the hill while invading my personal space and making me incredibly uncomfortable.

The worst type of people though aren't those who ask about my gym regimen or those who think they are being nice when they try to help me push my carts, it's those people who take their carts to their car and just leave them or even worse than that those people who prop their buggies up on the curb. You may think you are being helpful by not just leaving it lying around or by leaving it close to the store but in reality you just created a huge waste of time. This is not only because now I am forced to struggle and pull the buggy off of the curb but also because this one buggy is either going to have to be walked up to the front of the store by itself or I'm going to have to walk it to the corral with all the other buggies in order to take it up. Thank you for wasting my time and making me want to stand in the middle of the parking lot and just let the drivers plow me down with their cars, at least at that point I can sue and they can pay for my college tuition.

So once again a "sincere" thank you to all our loyal shoppers who make my day...hell.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
