10 Things I'm Going To Do After Graduation

I've seen my parents twice in the past four months, 'nough said.

1 month and 23 days. In 1 month and 23 days, my four-year journey of blood, sweat, and tears will be over. All I've been able to think about for the last few weeks is what I want to do with my life after I graduate. A lot of you have probably had the same thoughts, but in case you need any ideas here are 10 things I want to do after graduation.

1. Take a nap.

I'm tired, I'm cranky, and if I don't get some sleep soon, I might just lose my mind.

2. Look for a job.

Okay, this is kind of a given, but as soon as I wake up from my nap the fear of crushing debt is going to set in and I'm going to need a good job to waylay that fear.

3. Go see Infinity War.

So Infinity War is finally here and comes out on my graduation day... Kyle and I will just have to forgo the premiere date and have a date night in the few days after.

4. Spend time with my fiance.

Speaking of date nights, I would really love to spend some time with Kyle before his last semester sets in. This past semester's been so busy that I feel like I only see him once a week, and we live together!

5. Go visit my family.

I've seen my parents twice in the past four months, 'nough said.

6. Visit my best friend.

Going to college in two different states means I've gotten to see Jessica even less than I've gotten to see my parents, and this is not acceptable! But we'll have to work around her grown-up schedule since she landed her dream job even before graduating! (Way to go Sissy!)

7. Read a book.

And I mean for fun, not for class. I don't think I've gotten to read anything of my own choosing since Christmas break, and I feel my brain cells dying.

8. Take a trip.

I'm going stir crazy! I need to be away for a day to a theme park or a national forest or even just to Birmingham. (I'd love to go to Disney World, though. Hint, hint Kyle.)

9. Watch some TV.

I've heard great things about Stranger Things, and I look forward to seeing if everything's true.

10. Look into grad schools.

I know, I must be a glutton for punishment...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
