For those of you who are wondering "what is anime?" anime summed up is Japanese cartoons for all ages. For those of you who are already familiar with Anime you will understand this list of seven things only anime lovers understand. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about stay tuned!
1. The ship.
No matter what anime you're watching, an anime lover or an otaku will always find one pairing to love throughout the whole show. Even if they don’t actually become an item during the series the otaku will observe every moment they spend together. For example when they talk to each other the anime lover will say stuff like, “see they are in love.”
2. Loser!
Some anime lovers find it hard to express the fact that they enjoy watching anime due to the fact that some people find it ‘nerdy’ or ‘not normal.’ Don’t worry fellow otaku, one day everyone around the world will enjoy anime just as much as you do.
3. Sub or Dub!
This is one of the biggest struggles an otaku faces: Should I watch this anime in sub or dub?! Some fans stay true to the original and stick with both, but others watch both or just the dubbed version. It's their choice really but it's an important one in the long run.
4. Tumblr.
Tumblr is really an otakus favorite social media platform to be on. However, it can also be a death trap. Seeing spoilers, seeing pictures of the wrong ship, and especially spoilers!
5. Waiting.
If you’re an active fan of a new anime, waiting a week for the new episodes to come out is certainly a tragic experience. Waiting a week to see your favorite characters is so painful for you. Just wait until you have to start waiting for a new season to come out!
6. Friends.
Of course otakus have friends! They're just normal people after all! But when an otaku finds out another friend also watches anime, it's life changing. Now you can bond about how you both are anime trash, talk about shows you watched and of course tell them who you ship in certain shows!
7. End.
When your favorite series ends it's like the end of the world. You could find a new series, or just rewatch your favorite!
