Always remember to think positive!

2016 was a good year for absolutely no one, it seems. And a lot of people were glad to see the year finally end. But, a lot of people are heading into this new year with a lot on their backs, and are unsure about what this year is going to hold. It's a little hard to look at the positive things sometimes, so I decided to share some of the things that I am looking forward to this year!

1. Roseblood

For me, Phantom of the Opera was one of the first movies/musicals that I REALLY got into, after being introduced when I was in middle school. And the author, A.G Howard, wrote the Splintered trilogy, an Alice in Wonderland retelling that ended up consuming my thoughts for a good few months.

So, when I found out that she was retelling Phantom, the book immediately went on my "I'm getting this the moment I see it in a store." list.

2. Live Action Beauty and the Beast

Like so many people, Disney movies were a major part of my childhood. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney movies (And believe me, when I say this, I mean that I am the type of fan who has a very long argument prepared in case anyone says the movie portrays an abusive relationship (and, it will take up a lot of your time.) And seeing Emma Watson portray Belle. One of my favorite Disney characters, Immediately put this movie on my radar.

3. Carve The Mark

I will admit that, being a fan of the Divergent trilogy, This book was guaranteed a spot on my aforementioned list, just because it is written by Veronica Roth. But the things that I have heard about it so far have solidified it's spot. I've heard a lot of people, who were lucky enough to get an advanced copy, have compared it to Star Wars.

Count me in!

4. Star Wars: Episode VIII

Sure, We have to wait until December, and we don't have a trailer, or even know the title yet. But the hype is still there, especially after having my emotions messed with by Rogue One.

5. Season 2 of Stranger Things

I, like many people, lost a lot of sleep to this show, and was honestly, completely confused by the ending. So season 2 cannot come fast enough for me. Come on Netflix! Just give us a release date already!

If you haven't seen this show yet, make some time to watch it, it blends sci-fi, horror, and fantasy really well, and gets you addicted very quickly!

(P.S: Barb deserved better!)

6. The Solar eclipse in August!

I have been obsessed with outer space since I was a little kid, and while numerous lunar eclipses have happened in my life time, they always seemed to be blocked out by clouds. Obviously, due to the different natures of the events, that will be a lot less likely to happen during this eclipse.

As 2017 begins, there is a lot of uncertainty for a lot of people, and a lot of focus on negativity, but if all you focus on is the negative, then that will be all that you notice. If you want 2017 to be a good year for you, then you need to think more about the things that you can look forward to!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
