If you are the mom friend yourself, you probably actually enjoy it.

You come prepared with snacks, you get to take care of people, and you are the shoulder to turn to when someone is having a tough day.

To all the mom friends out there, you are needed in this world.

I am sure you could relate to the following things that mom friends know are 100 percent true:

1. Going to bed at a decent time is very important.

Sleep is a marvelous thing, my friends.

2. You are the queen of snacks.

Goldfish, organic crackers, gluten free everything; if you are the mom friend your room is the one with all the snacks.

3. You are constantly making sure everyone is safe.

"Hey, is everything alright?" comes out of your mouth the very second you notice someone looks a little uncomfortable.

4. You worry more than the average 20-year-old.

What can I say? You just care about those around you and want to protect them, with that comes some stress.

5. Your motherly instincts constantly help you help others.

When you know, you know.

6. When out in public, the buddy system is your friend.

It would really be a shame if someone just got lost. The system is important.

7. You write things down a lot and own a planner (or 10 planners).

Planners are not only cute but necessary.

8. Did I mention the snacks? You have a lot of them.

You have sweets too! Not to mention that you probably could bake some delicious chocolate chip cookies.

9. Hearing a "thank you" for taking care of someone makes it all worth it.

It is nice to be recognized for all of your motherly love every now and then.

10. If someone is sick, it is your civic duty to provide cough drops, medicine, a fuzzy blanket, and some soup.

Your medicine cabinet is stocked to the brim.

11. Your go to slogan is, "you feelin' alright?"

People just need to be checked on sometimes.

12. You are over prepared for any situation.

Did someone just sneeze? Have no fear, mom is here with a tissue.

13. Going on a road trip means packing everything and then packing an extra of everything.

Can you ever really have TOO MANY snacks, underwear, or t-shirts?

14. During beach days, you are the one applying the sunscreen.

SPF 50 or it is time to leave.

15. You keep extra napkins in the glove compartment of your car.

I bet these even get used on the daily. You never know when someone will drop something during the dance party.

16. You love being the mom of your group and you wouldn't (and probably couldn't) change it.

Being the "mom friend" may even be something that you take pride in. Live it and love it girl.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
