A new semester is beginning, which means you will definitely need a new Netflix show to get you through the long, cold winter nights that lie ahead. There's something on this list for everyone, whether you're looking for a new obsession to take over your life, or just a 30 minute episode to use as a study break.
1. "Wentworth"
If you're an "Orange is the New Black" fan, then Wentworth should be your next addiction. This Australian drama follows the story of a woman who is sent to prison for an attempted murder she did not commit. She must then learn to navigate prison life. There are currently three seasons of Wentworth.
2. "The Office"
If you're looking for something lighthearted with a dash of dry humor, this is your show. With nine seasons, "The Office" is a show on Netflix show that follows the employees of Dunder-Mifflin, a Pennsylvania paper supply company. There's a bit of drama, some romance and lot of crazy antics, and each episode is only 22 minutes, so you can fit a few into your schedule with ease.
3. "Sherlock"
The classic plot with an updated twist! In "Sherlock," our favorite detective and his partner, Watson, take on crime-solving in the 21st Century. There are currently three seasons on Netflix, and with Benedict Cumberbatch playing the lead role, you'll want to find time to watch this.
4. "Black Mirror"
"Black Mirror" is a Netflix anthology that will leave you feeling uneasy at best. Each episode stands alone and explores the darker side of life, technology, power, progress and the decisions we make regarding these topics. There are currently two seasons and a Christmas special. Watch if you dare.
5. "Grace and Frankie"
A Netflix original, "Grace and Frankie" is a comedy about two women who must rebuild their lives when their husbands announce that they are secretly in love. Grace and Frankie are in their 70s and must learn to once again navigate the waters of romance and dating after being married for more than 40 years. These two seasons explore modern ideas of love in a way that will keep you laughing.
