There Is Not One Single Definition Of Love

According to the Bible love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. Keeps no records of wrong. Does not delight in evil. Rejoices with truth. Always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.

Love never fails. -1 Corinthians 13:4, 7-8

I used to think there was one single definition of love; but now I know that's not true. Truthfully starting out this article, I texted five males and five females to ask them what their definition of love was. But someone near and dear to me reminded me to not make it gender specific, because love is no longer about gender.

According to google the first definition of Love is that "Love is an intense feeling of deep affection."

2. "A person or thing that one loves"

3. "Feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to (someone)"

There is not one single definition of love which leads me to how I asked six people what their definition of love is.

1. Love is...

"Love is a word that we use to describe things we care about. But it has different meanings. Loving someone has more meanings than people know. It can mean you love your gf or bf with intimacy, it can mean you love your family in a nurturing, natural kind of way you can't explain. It can mean you love your best friends as in our friendship. Love can mean you love an activity like sports because it makes you happy. So basically love is a way to describe what makes you happy. That's what love means to me."

2. Love is...

"My definition of love is a feeling. Sometimes it takes losing someone to make you realize you loved them so much. So not telling someone you love them, showing it, and feeling the love as well."

3. Love is...

"Love is when you have two people that were best friends become couples and stay best friends through the good, the bad, and the ugly, and no matter what you know you can always count on that person. They tell you you're beautiful even when you're not, because to them you are. When your sad and say you want to be alone they don't leave you by yourself. When you're hungry you drive around for 30 minutes while they said "idk" to every restaurant. When they're sick, you lay with them and kiss them anyways to make them feel better... then you get sick too and pretend you're not so they don't feel bad. When you can't sleep sleep at 4 a.m. and they walk over in the pitch black cold weather just to sleep for two hours to help them. Ultimately love is that feeling you get when your stomach hurts when you're not with that person. And it won't go away until you are with them. That's love and it never goes away. "

4. Love is...

"You get back in this world what you give out. We need more love in the world. Love will always win over hate. You can change anyone's by sending a smile and giving someone a hug. It's easy. God made us to be on this earth to send love and compassion and honestly to every person we have come across. It takes the struggle in life to really appreciate them but that why you have to hold tight to it because it's something that is so precious and dear. Love will alway find a way."

5. Love is...

"Love means never having to say "you're sorry.

6. Love is...

"I think love is something you do, it's a verb as well as a feeling. I think if you truly love someone you pour into them and lift them up, while being willing to work through whatever -be it friends or romantically. You should be there through the ugly and the good."

Now what is your definition of love?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
