It’s the littlest gestures that make the biggest influence on our lives. Something as simple as smiling at someone in passing or holding the door for a stranger can make or break someone’s day. One act of kindness, just one single act.
Behind every brave face, hides a bucket full of emotions.
Everyone knows the feeling of chills running up and down their spine. The tears welling up in their eyes. Your heart feeling like it’s going to break into a million tiny pieces. The aching of your chest when you hear something that you didn’t want to know.
When your breath gets heavy and uneven. Your nose gets all stuffed. You try to hold back tears, but they slowly roll down your cheek. You can feel them, warm, as they drips down your face and neck. You try to breathe deep, but you can’t catch your breath. It seems as if you forgot how to breathe.
Your world feels like its tumbling down around you. You can feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. You sit there, and feel alone. You feel vulnerable. It’s a completely dissatisfying feeling. You wish you could go back and change the past.
Everything leading up to that one moment replays in your head. Over and over again. It doesn’t stop. It’s on a loop. You close your eyes. You sit and think about what you could have done to change what happened. But there’s nothing. What’s done is done.
But, everything happens for a reason. People show up in your life when you need them the most, and they leave when they become toxic. Everyone you meet has a purpose, and everyone impacts you in a different way.
Every situation you come across, every day, is a new experience.
Treat everyone you meet with respect. And until they give you a reason not to deserve your respect, keep treating them with respect. Not every face that doesn’t have a smile on it is necessarily angry.
So many amazing people have "resting bitch face." There's an endless amount of people that come off as rude, just because they forget to put on a smile.
Show kindness and compassion in every situation. You don’t know where their shoes have taken them.
When something doesn’t go as planned, all you need is one person to make a difference.
