Although I'm a student, I do have a job. Obviously, it's not my career, but I do spend a decent amount of time there and have worked there for several years. Being that I spend so much time at my job, why not write about it? Pretty much everyone can relate to the struggles of a typical workday. What better way to portray these struggles than by using the famed characters of "The Office?"

1. Waking up for an early shift

No one wants to be at work early. There is not enough coffee in the world to make me want to deal with people at any time before 9 a.m. But your boss asks you to take the shift that no one else wants, so you say yes for the extra cash. R.I.P. sleep.

2. Arriving at work like...

You don't realize how much you don't want to work until you actually get to work. You walk in the door and it's busy, or customers are already being problematic. It's just too much. Help.

3. Having to deal with crazy customers

Let's face it. The customer is usually never right. But you have to pretend that they are in order to keep them happy. You'd be surprised at just how rude people can be to someone who's just trying to do their job. Please don't yell at me.

4. When it gets super busy

Most people can relate to an insanely busy work day. Running around in circles to get everything done and get all of the customers served. It can get very, very crazy at times. So. Many. Customers.

5. Getting to go on break

Where would we be without our breaks at work? It literally breaks up your shift and gives you some time to relax. This is the highlight of any shift. God bless the breaks.

6. Joking around with coworkers

It's definitely great to work at a place where you can have fun from time to time. Whenever there's a slow moment, you should be able to have some laughs at work. Yay for work friends!

7. When it's finally time to clock out and go home

Okay, I lied before. Clocking out to go home is definitely the highlight of any shift. By the time I'm done with a crazy shift, my bed has never looked so good.

We gotta love work, but we also gotta hate it sometimes.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
